Lyrics

Please don't tell me what you think that you know about me,
And please don't hurt me with the words that you think speak of me.

Cause I don't know if you can ever understand someone like me,
And I don't know if I can ever see the you I ought to see.

But let's take time and sit in silence, feel our hearts beat, not our minds speak.
Feel the truth in quiet moments, hear the music stillness sings.

At Her table love's remembered, at Her table we are safe
Maybe we can sit together, feel Her peace and trust Her grace.

Every being that you meet holds the key to true belief.
Could there only be one view when there's so much to the truth?

At Her table love's remembered, at Her table we are safe
Maybe we can sit together, feel Her peace and trust Her grace.

At Her table love's remembered, at Her table we are safe
Maybe we can sit together, feel Her peace and trust Her grace.

So what does it mean?

You have your assumptions, I have mine.

Christians have hurt me, and most of the time I spend around fervent Christians I am struggling to convince myself that these people are not all that different from me. I tell myself they are just as kind as I am, just as patient as I am, just as interested in peace and learning to live a loving life as I am.

But really, every one of us has a different experience, a different history, a different presentation, and each of us is sturggling with our own pre-concieved notions. Maybe we try to be understanding and appreciative of our differences. But our differences will continue to get in the way. As will our assumptions.

If we are to get along, respect, and maybe even love each other, our only hope is to trust in something beyond our comprehension. I call this "Her Grace."

I want the opportunity to sit with you and reach for Her Grace. I will open to Her and believe in our miracle. She will bring me to a place of no fear, a still place where love can begin to flow into our relationship.

Will you join me?
